Nare Hovsepyan (Armenia)

From Kaputan to Sisian

It always seems that the further you go from the city, the more you wander through villages and communicate with old-timers, the more you become immersed in true patriotism, culture, traditions, and love for your homeland. It feels like the soul of the Motherland has remained untouched there and has preserved itself in its purest form. However, this is far from what Nare encountered during the project. She traveled through Armenian villages, surprisingly discovering the solitude and oblivion of traditions. After spending several days there, she collected everything she saw and combined the photographs into one series. This collection captures the cycles of village life: the processes of bread-making and housekeeping, family traditions and the history that repeats itself. For this project she chose villages across Armenia from Kaputan to Sisian.
Nare Hovsepyan photographer from Armenia. Her lens has become a powerful tool for storytelling. Street photography is Nare's greatest passion. She can spend hours walking along quiet streets to capture the true emotions of people. Nare plans to travel actively to show through her photographs how multifaceted and amazing our world is.
