Mória Refugee Camp

The Moria refugee camp was founded in January 2013 and served as the largest refugee camp in Europe until it burned down in September 2020. It was located outside the village of Maria near Mytilene on the island of Lesbos.
Konstantinos Tsakalidis — a photographer from Greece. He has been documenting issues related to the Greek crisis since 2011. In 2015-2016, he captured the route of thousands of refugees from the islands of the eastern Aegean Sea to Central Europe through the Balkan countries. In August 2021, he was assigned by Bloomberg News to cover the wildfires in Athens and on the island of Evia.
